The Children's Art Camp is Monday–Friday, July 17–21, and consists of daily 2-1/2 hour sessions for children in grades K–6. Participants will work in small groups to create puppets and write a short script for a fairy tale of nursery rhyme. The Art Camp will culminate in a performance for friends and families using the puppets and the story that they have created. Guest artists from the Zoot Theater Company will come and instruct the students on how to perform with their puppets. Instructors for the Art Camp consist of TCAAC members and local artists.

The Children's Art Adventure is a themed arts festival for children—unlike any other art opportunity in this area. This event offers children ages 3–12 from Tipp City and surrounding areas, the opportunity to explore many forms of art and different types of media at dozens of art stations. Some examples of projects are shoebox guitars, tie dye T-shirts, bookmaking, origami, necktie snakes, pendulum painting, recycled materials crafts and a community art project. Participation in art stations requires the purchase of a wristband. Admission allows unlimited workshop participation and includes all project supplies. Some stations may have a minimum age requirement due to the complexity of the project. Parents are encouraged to participate with younger children.
The theme of the 2017 Children's Art Adventure is “A World of Art”. The artists manning our stations are encouraged to develop a project that uses unusual materials or uses everyday materials in an unusual way. This year there will be 30 art stations, food trucks and entertainment! The artists, organizations and businesses involved in this event are dedicated to helping young people in our community develop their creativity through art.
A brief history . . .
The idea for a children’s art festival was sparked by the Hands on the Arts Festival in Sunnyvale, California, where our organizer and her family lived prior to moving to Tipp City. August 2013 was the inaugural year for the TCAAC Children's Art Adventure. Each year, the festival has grown with more community and business involvement and hundreds of kids and their families coming to make and celebrate the arts!
